Hello friends! I’ve mentioned before, but I’m a member of Influenster, and from time to time they send me products to test. This time around they send me the new Loreal Lumi glow palette and lotion. Both retail for $14.99 and can be found here. I got the Moonkissed highlighter palette and Glotion in the shade Light.
Okay, palette first. the texture is extremely chalky, not soft and not very pigmented. If you’re for an extremely subtly highlighter this may work for you but it also rubs right off. I didn’t even get a chance to wash it off my arm because it was already gone by the time I was finished taking pics and uploading. The darker colors are much more pigmented but the pink shade is extremely pretty. They just don’t show up very well on my skin. Here is the paltte’s description:
L’Oreal’s True Match Lumi Glow Nude Highlighter Palette creates the perfect multi-dimensional sculpted glow look. The collection of four highlighting powders in one makeup kit instantly awakens complexion. Layer or mix and match shades to create a multi-dimensional glow or wear them separately for a natural illuminated look.
While this is a drugstore palette, I think you can skip it and spend nearly the same amount and get just one good quality highlighter (Check out UD Sin). These are just seriously lacking pigment. They may look better on darker skin though. But be warned, it’s extremely chalky and chunky 😦 Bummer!!
The Glotion is slightly different, it’s a pearlized liquid and it is extremely glowy. As you can see from the picture of my fingers after I rubbed it on my arm. It does leave a nice glowy sheen but once again longevity is an issue. It also didn’t last very long either but was definitely the prettier of the two products. Loreal says you can use the lighter colors as a highlighter and the darker as contour, but me personally? I prefer my contour to be matte. Here is the Glotion’s description:
L’Oreal’s True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer instantly hydrates and luminizes skin for an all-over, fresh, natural glow. The highlighting formula is lightweight and delivers an illuminating color tint for healthy, radiant skin. True Match Lumi Glotion achieves a natural glowing complexion while hydrating skin.
Definitely the better of these two products, but I didn’t test it on my face because I already have shine issues. I think this would be great for highlighting the collar bone or shoulders though. It is not overly moisturizing and not overly greasy, so that’s a plus too! (I’m sorry, I know it sounds like I’m reaching here!)
If you really must, give them a try maybe they will work better for you….For me, they were sadly a miss.
