What do you do when you have combo skin that leans towards as greasy as a piece of pizza, but also flakes in those same spots?? You look for a matte moisturizer. I have tried several with my latest attempts being from Shiseido and First Aide Beauty……until I found GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow moisturizer. The fact that I tried those other ones and kept looking should tell you enough about how well they worked for me. I debated on the GlamGlow for quite a while, here’s why:
It comes with a damn hefty price tag for moisturizer. It retails for $54USD for 1.7oz….. I paid quite a bit less than that for my other moisturizers which offered the same if not more product.
Here’s what it promises to do:
This pressed, luxurious moisturizer transforms skin with nourishment and moisture for a supple glow without shine. Volcanic minerals act like microscopic sponges to help soak up oil—making skin instantly smooth, but never shiny. The water balm formula delivers optimal hydration and, if used in the morning, provides a prepped, even canvas for flawless makeup application.
First of all, I’ll tell you that the first selling point of this stuff for me is that it was somehow supposed to be matte, but wasn’t a gel like the others. The next selling point was the smell of the product. Do you like orange creamsicles?? Of course you do! If you don’t, then you almost certainly like the smell. It smells fantastic but once on the face doesn’t linger , which is nice. If you’re not sure about the purchase, head to Sephora and grab some samples, which is what I did first and it convinced me that I needed to have this and add it to my daily beauty routine.
The texture of it is super unique and unlike that of anything else I’ve seen. While you can’t tell from the pictures because I’ve used a ton of mine…It looks like a solid in the jar, you kind of just use your fingernail to “scrape” some and a tiny bit goes a REALLY long way. That alone helped to justify the cost. I use this at night in large doses and sleep with it on. In the morning I wash my face, tone it and then apply this to my dry spots only. Then I layer it up with my normal routine and away I go. It doesn’t get greasy on me (no greasier than I normally am). It provides a nice little cushion for the rest of my makeup too. I don’t really think it acts as a primer, but then again it’s not really supposed to. It really does help with my flakiness too.
I just love, love this stuff, cool consistency, feels great and lightweight on my skin, doesn’t make me greasier and does a great job of moisturizing…and smells so so good! I rate this an A+, I will definitely be repurchasing it again!

This looks like a dream! I should definitely give it a try. I’m looking forward to your future posts. Check out my blog if you get a chance!
Have a good day! Mena from noirerewritten.com 🌷🌷🌷
